SANKOFA COMMUNITY FARM @ BARTRAMS GARDEN

WHAT IS SANKOFA?

Picture
Sankofa means "go back and get it" and comes from the Twi language in Ghana. Our logo is a rooster reaching back, but still walking forward. In other terms, remember your past while still going towards your future. Being a spirtually rooted farm, African American history is very important to us and we incorporate it in many different ways on our farm.

We're located at Bartram's Garden, a historic garden and arboretum in Philadelphia. It's actually the oldest surviving botanic garden in North America!

DO YOU LIVE IN THE SOUTHWEST  PHILADELPHIA AREA?

Want your own garden bed? For a small fee, we'll come and install a bed, plant seeds, and teach you how to take care of your very own home garden! Contact us below for more information!

VISIT OUR FARM!

We love visitors and frequently have volunteer days! Become closer to the land, learn how to farm,
and build relationships with new people! Not only do we have our farm land, but we have an orchid, greenhouse,
community beds, and so much more! Come see it for yourself!
